Mangal

Mangal is Mars — the planet of energy and drive: courage, initiative, physical strength, and the willingness to fight for something. It is the natural karaka (significator) of brothers and of land and property.
Well-placed, it reads as decisiveness, discipline and protective strength; poorly placed, as anger, impulsiveness or conflict. Its placement is weighed carefully in compatibility, where the term Manglik describes a Mars placement traditionally examined before marriage — a matter the tradition treats descriptively, not as a verdict.
Mars rules the nakshatras Mrigashira, Chitra and Dhanishta, and takes about six weeks to cross a sign.
