Tarabala

Also written star strength · Tara Bala

Tarabala (tara = star, bala = strength) reads a day by the nakshatra (lunar mansion) the Moon is passing through, counted from your birth nakshatra. The count runs in cycles of nine, and each step has a name and a character:

Janma (birth), Sampat (wealth), Vipat (danger), Kshema (wellbeing), Pratyak (obstacle), Sadhana (achievement), Naidhana (the hardest), Mitra (friend) and Param Mitra (great friend).

Sampat, Kshema, Sadhana, Mitra and Param Mitra are the helpful taras; Vipat, Pratyak and above all Naidhana ask for caution. Because the Moon moves through a nakshatra in about a day, Tarabala changes almost daily. Read alongside Chandrabala, it tells you how the Moon is disposed toward you today.
